WARM WEATHER, COOL ART
When it comes to defining the Miami art scene, gallerist Nina Johnson says to forget those “sixth borough” jokes. “We could not be less similar to New York,” she insists. But it’s not just the tropical weather and the louche fashion sense she’s talking about. “There’s a Wild West attitude here. "
Barely a decade out of college, Nina's the publisher of The Miami Rail, a quarterly magazine focused on the city’s feisty cultural whirl, as well as owner of one of Miami’s most highly regarded galleries.

IN THE HOTEL LOBBY
Our lobby art installation, Prajñāpāramitā, highlights our Eastern roots and the complicated relationship between expansion, spirituality and traditional culture. Working in conjunction with ART LEXÏNG and designed by the Chinese artist, Ye Hongxing, Prajñāpāramitā, serves as a reinvention of the traditional mandala symbol with stickers, toys and glass beads. Check it out from now until the end of November.
