Rosslyn, VA February 16, 2018 —Knowland announced today that it has acquired Strategic Data Resources (SDR), effective February 15, 2018. Knowland is a globally recognized provider of meeting and group data that offers extensive insight into market analytics, group industry trends, and powerful benchmarking tools. The company is headquartered in Rosslyn, Virginia, right outside the nation’s capital.

SDR was founded in 2004 by Jeff Eastman. Headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, SDR provides reports to convention and visitors bureaus and hotel sales teams who use their self-reported future looking booked meeting data to benchmark key metrics such as booking pace versus their competitor markets. The bookings, provided by participating CVBs in markets across the US and Canada, are aggregated, analyzed, and configured into the TAP Report which has become an industry standard for CVBs. It serves as a critical tool used to continually check the success or shortcomings of their sales strategies. SDR also offers TAP Analytics, a cloud-based business intelligence solution built on the TAP Report data. SDR’s TAP Hotel reports provide participating hotels a forward-looking tool for benchmarking group bookings pace versus their competitive set. TAP Hotel is the only hotel benchmarking solution that covers the entire group booking window, which often extends many years into the future.

“We are excited to be bringing SDR and Knowland together,” stated Tim Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Knowland. “Jeff and his team have built an amazing company with an incredibly solid reputation. By combining TAP reporting with Knowland’s market intelligence and lead generation capabilities, we will be able to offer our joint customers an even more powerful set of tools for generating and managing demand.”

“We are excited to partner with Knowland to bring a more comprehensive and robust product offering to our customers in the hospitality space,” said Jeff Eastman, CEO of SDR. “By leveraging our market data, we see an opportunity to dramatically enhance Knowland’s lead generation and hotel property analytics.”

Jeff will remain a part of the business going forward, joining Knowland to continue supporting the needs of TAP customers.
