Live at La Fonda What Chickering calls his “project” is the culmination of years of self-exploration combined with solid musicianship and a tribute to the classic sounds he grew up with. A fusion of rock, folk, and world music—“Tom Petty meets John Cougar,” as he calls it—his tunes aim not only to raise people’s spirits, but also break down barriers.
Chickering is joined on his musical journey by band members Braden Anderson, Don Curry, Andy Deikmann, and Rob Whitmore, as well as Grammy-nominated, Emmy Award-winning songwriter Greg Barnhill. Relatively new to La Fiesta Lounge, he has already won fans here, and will be playing weekend shows Aug. 22-23 and Sept. 26-27, as well as a Santa Fe Bandstand show in the Plaza on Aug. 19. “We love La Fonda,” he says of the band, “and it’s a real honor to play such a legendary venue—we really enjoy it.”
