One of the things I love most about Santa Fe is the unique celebrations that combine history and culture – food and art, just the right ingredients that make these festivities “uniquely Santa Fe.”
I am delighted that La Fonda is partnering with the New Mexico History Museum and KNME –TV for a fund-raiser to benefit the museum and I invite you to join me for
An Evening with the Harvey Girls. Take a walk back in time to the Harvey years on Sunday, November 17 starting with a premiere of the documentary
Harvey Girls: Opportunity Bound.
The fund-raiser culminates at La Fonda with a Harvey-inspired reception. This is your chance to tour our newly renovated guest rooms. Each room is deeply rooted in the history and culture of Fred Harvey designer Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, yet is interwoven with fresh, modern elements.
At the event, you’ll also have an opportunity to meet some of the original Harvey Girls and
Appetite for America author Stephen Fried. All proceeds from this event go to benefit the expansion of the museum’s Harvey exhibitions.
