Known for capturing the essence of “Santa Fe style,” jewelry designer
Rocki Gorman continues to develop her rich, extravagant beaded pendants, bracelets, and earrings in new directions. Along with traditional turquoise and coral, Rocki applies copper, jasper, and silver to her creations. “Triangular Perfection,” for example, a pendant in copper with blue and green turquoise, is strung on her antiqued copper beads. Check out this exciting new collection at her La Fonda gallery. Exclusively Rocki Gorman. Especially La Fonda.
Luxury knives are the specialty at Cutlery of Santa Fe, some of them nearly too beautiful to use, including the skinner knives by Steve Nolte. The 416-layer Damascus steel blades are crafted by a secret process to create the distinct patterns. Each handcrafted knife handle is unique, inlaid with stones such as turquoise and Turatella. Come see knives from simple to extravagant at a one-of-a-kind shop.
Popular Santa Fe jewelry designer
Melanie DeLuca is among the artisans represented at
John Rippel U.S.A., a gallery of belt buckles, jewelry, and gifts like no other. DeLuca’s imaginative pieces are not for wallflowers. Applying exotic found objects such as antique coins, amulets, vintage Bakelite, beetle wings, and carved bone alongside precious metals and semi-precious stones, DeLuca designed the extravagant “Samurai Leaf” neckpiece. Here, Japanese-styled leaves of red brass flank a contemporary disk of yellow jade, with two bronze Japanese keepers and Moroccan buttons strung on multicolored cords, fastened with a bone and Opalite clasp.
