It's a Good Time to...
Band leader Steve Rose has danced at La Fiesta Lounge himself for years, ever since he and his wife started dating. He says he’s thrilled to now be playing the venue with his band, which is currently made up of Brian McLane on lead guitar, Larry Diaz on bass, Gerald Rodriguez on drums, and himself on guitar, with most of the guys pitching in on vocals.
The band is three years old, and played regularly at the Legal Tender Saloon in Lamy before that popular, old-timey destination closed this summer. Rose says it’s always been his goal to make it on stage at La Fonda. “I love this place!” he says. “The first time I played here, I was so jazzed. I’ve played here and there in Santa Fe, but La Fonda is by far my favorite place.” Catch Buffalo Nickel and their crowd of dancin’ fools at La Fiesta Lounge on Nov. 1 and 2, and again Nov. 25 and 26.
