IT'S THAT GREEN TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN!
HELP US MAKE OUR WORLD A CLEANER PLACE.

Trash on the beach and in the ocean is a serious problem that affects the health of wildlife, people and our economies. Join the world’s largest volunteer effort for our ocean and waterways by participating in Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup.

This year, there will be 45 cleanup sites throughout Miami-Dade county and
The Palms Hotel & Spa will again host the site between 30th and 39th Street
on Miami Beach.

On Saturday, September 17th, 2016
9am-noon

(Meeting point at the hotel's garden.)

To volunteer, please sign up by following this link.

(Only by signing up via this link will you be sure to receive all give-aways
and invites being handed out during and after the clean-up.)

Following the cleanup all volunteers are invited
to enjoy complimentary sandwiches, cookies and refreshments
at the Palms Hotel & Spa garden.

And the volunteer appreciation party is on Sunday, September 18th from 2pm during the
9th Annual Everglades Awareness Benefit Concert at Gramps!

Show that you care and join us!

This is the world's largest volunteer effort of its kind!
Last year more than 18 million pounds of trash was collected
by nearly 800,000 volunteers during the International Coastal Cleanup.
Here in Miami-Dade at last year’s event, we gathered and removed 17,500 pounds
of marine debris from 31 miles of coastline with 2,200 volunteers in this single day of service.

DATA COLLECTION

Volunteers at ICC actively participate in a unique global citizen science project.
Not only will they be removing marine debris, but they will also catalogue and tally what they find
using the Ocean Conservancy’s data collection cards or Clean Swell App. The resulting item-by-item, location-by-location Ocean Trash Index that Ocean Conservancy compiles each year provides the only global snapshot of the marine debris littering coasts and waterways around the world
and helps to inform educational campaigns and policy.

PLEASE NOTE

  • Please bring your own reusable drink containers or if you already have one of our Inspired by Nature water canteens please bring it with you as we are avoiding creating more trash where possible.

  • If you will be bringing a minor make sure that you are legally allowed to sign a release form for them or contact: alma@thepalmshotel.com beforehand to receive and fill out the release forms.
  • Meeting point on the day of the event will be in our garden on the South Lawn
  • Very limited valet parking is available at $29. On-street parking is available as well as a public parking lot on 27th Street. Walking, biking, public transport and car-pooling are encouraged.
